

A microchip is not a GPS for your pet. It is an inert chip, about the size of a grain of rice, with a number coded on it. When a scanner is run across chip, it picks up the number. Each chip has a unique number, so your pet can be identified by the number.
The HomeAgain Microchip has an organic glue that bonds to the tissue around it, preventing movement of the chip. The chip is injected under the skin, just like a vaccination, over the shoulders. This is the universal placement for microchips, so that everyone knows where to scan for them.
